Eating Disorders

Food is the source of nutrition necessary for the survival of any living species on Earth. Yet, no other species have evolved to form such complex relationships with food like us fellow humans. The first interaction with Food for a human is the Milk of their Mother. This single factor is imperative enough to form the basis of all interactions and relationships with food growing up and as an adult. If our Mother simply fed us milk/food every time we were cranky without truly being present for us, the child learns from her Mother, “Eating/food is the solution to all my problems”. The adult grows up to be Obese or Bulimic or forms all sorts of complex relationships with Food. We confuse the Hunger for Connection with the Hunger for Food. We confuse the Hunger for Love with the Hunger for Food.
